A little bit ago, I made a post about Gyaru Keywords (if you missed it, check it out here!), and something I really wanted to talk about more was Pagyaru and the qualifications in seeing whether someone is more of a Gal Mind only or an actual True Gal (according to a survey conducted in Japan). Here’s more information on what Pagyaru is and also the qualifications they’ve set that helps determine where you fall along those two categories.
Out of the book that was published about Pagyaru and trying to understand the meaning behind it as part of Japan’s youth culture, women ages 18-34 in 2011 were interviewed in Japan with what were found to be 3 sets of categories with 10 items each in order to better determine how many women that considered themselves Gyaru back then qualified as such. The results showed that 12.8% were qualified as True Gyaru while 55.5% were qualified as Pagyaru; a little over 8.45 million Gyaru and Pagyaru since the last study conducted in 2009.
